Mirror on the Wall

Who is the fairest one of all?

This week all eyes were on the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Because even if you can’t be there in person you pretend you were, and blog about it.

Hashtag fake it till you make it.

All of the trends consumed of feathers, ruffles, sequin and pink.

That’s haute.

I’ve always had a tad of an obsession with pink, but sometimes pink can be a bit Barbie, a bit baby. But Karl Lag(erfeld) always ceases to amaze me because the collection was whimsical, chic yet very clean. It didn’t have an overt theme or visual puns, just beautiful designs and lots, lots, of mirrors.

From tailored women’s wear (structured shoulder, anyone? ) to gowns, the almost 80’s inspired collection drew many “Oooh”‘s  and “Aaaah”‘s from the collection.

“I wanted something impeccable, clean. I wanted the girls to look like walking fashion drawings,” said Karl Lagerfeld (Vogue), adding, “And I must say, I love feathers!”

Who doesn’t, Karl. Who doesn’t?

So if you’re out shopping or is looking to invest in a couple of new clothes here’s a hint: opt for light/baby pink and feathers! Don’t be scared to work the Chanel Couture Style. Don’t be insecure, work that up feathery do!
