Haute Summer: Chanel Re-Cap

Paris Fashion Chanel

Haute Couture Fashion Week doesn’t stop for anyone, not even for Fourth of July. One of my favorite times of the year is upon us and what better way to wind-down the long weekend with a re-cap of Couture Week: Chanel edition.

Paris, the place I was for literally seven minutes and forty-two seconds of my life, Continue reading “Haute Summer: Chanel Re-Cap”

I Never Promised You A Rose Garden: Rodarte SS18

Haute Couture Fashion Week is upon us and Rodarte made its way by showing a beautiful collection for Spring/Summer 2018. In the heart of Paris, the American label showed the concept of dream into gowns, and make everyone, including me, want to be a flower child running through the field.

Mirror on the Wall

Who is the fairest one of all?

This week all eyes were on the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Because even if you can’t be there in person you pretend you were, and blog about it.

Hashtag fake it till you make it.

All of the trends consumed of feathers, ruffles, sequin and pink.

That’s haute.

I’ve always had a tad of an obsession with pink, but sometimes pink can be a bit Barbie, a bit baby. But Karl Lag(erfeld) always ceases to amaze me because the collection was whimsical, chic yet very clean. Continue reading “Mirror on the Wall”

To Muff or Not to Muff? That is the question.

Muffs remind me of old Hollywood fashion, the glamour that comes with having a tiny fur tube around your hands while wearing long gowns and pearls.

I was never the type of person who likes wearing gloves or anything around my hands, really, but muffs are a different story. They’re a unique piece to be worn with confidence, not to mention a tad of an attitude.

Are muffs really coming back and coming back for good?

At the Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2014 show we got to see a few hints of the come back of the muff. And this morning at the Celine show it was definitely a confirmation. They. Are. Back.

I’m a sucker for anything fur; and with this piece, even Anna Wintour would crack a smile. This furry friend will add sophistication to any look.

So, if you have a muff around the house or somewhere in your closet, don’t get rid of it. Keep it because it will be one of the hottest and most used items for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2014 season.

La Vie en rose; Paris Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is way behind us, and what lies ahead is nothing but the beautiful designs being presented at Paris Fashion Week. Yes, there was Milan Fashion Week, but there’s something about Paris—that “Je ne sais quoi” that makes me feel like I’m in La Vie en rose.

Les defiles Automne-Hiver 2014-2015 started and here’s a recap of the good, the best and the truly magnificent designs featured down the runway.

 The Good: Givenchy

Sequin face masks anyone? Just when you thought you couldn’t get anymore glitz, Givenchy comes up with a pretty amazing accessory; face masks. Who would’ve thought? They were completely unexpected and a tad risque. But it totally worked for their collection, and not going to lie one of the coolest looks ever.

The Best: Balmain

Peplum structured jackets. Needless to say, I need one now. These jackets, and some occasional skirts, are not you’re average peplums. They are THE peplums of peplums. The colors, the leather, the combination of army-structured details screams girl-gone-bad. And I love it.

The Magnificent: BALENCIAGA

Everyone is talking about it—BALENCIAGA shopping bags. These so called ‘shopping bags’ are better looking than any handbag ever made. It’s pure fashion-genius mixed with a little, well a lot, of fur, leather and fine details that only BALENCIAGA can bring. With these bags I wouldn’t mind shopping, for anything, really.

These were a few of the many incredible things that went down the runway in Paris so far. Can’t wait to see what else will go down the runway for the days to come.
